Ongoing Special Events at The Center

SUNDAY VESPERS IN THE CHAPEL

Every Sunday, 4:30 p.m.

We invite you to join us each Sunday for an inter-denominational worship service of music, meditation, and prayer, led by Rev. Frank Sanders. According to Frank, the Chapel stands on the highest point of The Center’s grounds, and symbolizes the underlying spirituality of all Center programs.

SPIRITUAL COMPANIONSHIP

Kathy Fontaine is donating her time and expertise to The Center, by offering her one-on-one services to anyone seeking spiritual direction through prayer, meditation, and dialogue. A good friend of The Center for many years, Kathy Fontaine has been trained by the Institute for Spiritual Companionship. The cost of Kathy’s spiritual companionship is $20/hour, which Kathy donates to the camp scholarship fund. Please, call the office for details about setting up appointments with Kathy, who is here as a spiritual companion all day every Tuesday

Toastmasters

1st and 3rd Wed. of each month 7:00-9:00pm

Toastmasters is an opportunity for folks who wish to improve their public communication skills. If you'd like to develop the skills and confidence to stand and speak before large or small groups of people, then we invite you to join our supportive group. Toastmasters is an internationally renowned program, involving a structure of both planned and impromptu short speeches, with evaluations by members of the group. The center's Toastmasters Club consists of staff, volunteers, and friends of The Center. No commitment is necessary to try it out: so join us on the 1st or 3rd Wednesday evening of the month. Center Singers

Monday evenings, 7:00 - 8:00pm in the lodge

Director Linda Gall and accompanist Jolly Probasco welcome new members to The Center Singers which consist of the musically-inclined members of The Center's fellowship. They sing once a month at Sunday afternoon Vespers in addition to performances at special events.

Great Decisions Discussion Group

One Sunday per month, 6:30pm

Great Decisions is a Sunday evening monthly discussion group for folks interested in broadening their knowledge and understanding of the world. The Great Decisions book published annually by the Foreign Policy Institute provides facts and a nonpartisan analysis of the "great decisions" we face today.

Spirituality 101

Spirituality 101 is a monthly discussion group which encourages spiritual growth, inquiry, dialogue, and meditation. Discussions are based on books chosen by the group and leadership rotates among group members. The group meets once or twice each month, usually on Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m.

Anniversary Dinner and Renewal of Vows

All anniversary couples are invited. The evening will begin with a Vespers Service at 4:30 pm, following Vespers the couples will enjoy a gracious candlelight dinner in the lodge and then return to the Chapel for Renewal of Wedding Vows. For reservations and information call The Center.

THE FELLOWCRAFTERS

Fellowcrafters meet twice each month (the first and third Tuesday of every month to make items for the "gift shop" area by the front door of the lodge. The Fellowcrafters have been meeting at The Center for nearly 70 years, making wreaths, knitting, crocheting, stitching, and more. Through the years, their proceeds have purchased fans and carpets and curtains and furniture, and most recently, the furnishings for the new preschool room. New Fellowcrafters are always welcome!
