Junior Farmers at The Children's Farm

(Weekly classes for children, 4 – 12)

Junior Farmers is a year round opportunity for young children, ages 4-12 to immerse themselves in the life of the Children’s Farm. They’ll get to know the farm animals and they’ll. meet other children who share their keen interest in farm life.

The Junior Farmers program is directed by Farm Program Coordinator Kay Ardizzone. Kay loves and is loved by children and animals, and she delights in nurturing the joy children find at the farm.

The South Cook County 4-H fair is being held at The Children’s Farm on July 19th.

A number of 4-H groups join our own Home of the Clovers and show off their 2008 projects. Crafts, small pets, baking, science, carpentry, sewing, farm animals are just to name of few.

These are a great group of children who would love your support so come out to theChildren’s Farm on July 19th from 9:00 to 3:00 for yet another beautiful fun day on ourfarm.

Each Season Brings Special Activities

In the spring, children prepare for and welcome our spring babies. Little piglets, bunnies, lambs, kid goats, calves, chickens, and goslings all need special attention and nurturing. Summertime is a season of exploring the farms 60 acres of fields, woodlands, and wildlife. Children also go on hayrack and pony rides. The busy fall season begins with pumpkins and ends in December with our animal "live nativity" program. Winter and snow brings a chance for children to try out cross-country skiing. They also give special nurturing and help to all of our farm animals to make sure they survive the cold weather

The Children’s Farm Junior Farmers program is an exceptional and popular program for young children. They’ll. touch, they’ll. enjoy, they’ll. learn…all part of experiencing the wonder and nature of life at the farm!
